2 zeitgeist: The carpet is created in 3d's by max by means of hair&fur. A little change option of one of preset.

Some new draft images. Render took about 3 hours on a shot.
And i can't find balance of ies in any way. I receive or rigid shadows, or drawing of a source of ies is lost.

I really do like the first set of images. Especially the wall-texture looks great! Is it Diff/Bump only or did you use displacement? The second set doesn´t look that realistic, compared to the first one.

Use the "keep sharp patterns (fake)" checkbox
Rendering is magic.
