Eddoron - thanks for the suggestion on the skin shader.

The image in the first post is what I hope to achieve.  The result I'm getting is in this attachment - too metallic.  I realize this is not the same environment, but it doesn't have the quality of the first image.  I think the first image might be a metallic base with a layered top coat, but I have not found a way to do that using the layered shader yet.  I'll watch the video as recommended to see if that helps shed some light.

Thanks for for the link.  I'll give it a look tonight.

I purchased a model intended for 3DS Max and I can't get the material to look correct - see attached.  I have all the original textures used by the creator, but my recreation turns out either too metallic or too flat.  I'm assuming the chandelier body is metal, however, it appears to have some diffuse properties as well.  Could this be a metallic base with a clear finish coat on top?  If so, how do I do this with the layered material?  I would greatly appreciate any pointers on getting this look as I've spent about 2 hours now trying.  Thanks!

That's what I was looking for.  Thanks for the link.

Eddoron - thanks for the reply.  Yes, would like to use AO as mask and read somewhere on here that it would not work with layer shader.  What would AO in a layer or fusion shader look like?

It's probably a very simple solution, but it's not coming to mind.  How is it possible to break up AO in the diffuse channel?  In other words, I like to add a texture map, to create breaks in what is normally a very linear effect.  Thanks in advance.

Beautiful Work!

Maru - thanks for the link to that thread.  Great read.

I realized this post is almost four years old, but I recently came across it while searching for a way to use Corona for C4D w/ Gamma 1.0.  I am taking a video course by CG Bandit where he explains the advantages in 3DS Max.  I have tried unticking LWF and played around with the input color profile to no avail.  Any advice?

WOW!  Stunning!  How long did this project take from start to finish?

I have noticed same kind of issues when having a geometry without phong tag. There is no use to run render with corona for 4 hours. Totally unproductive. Just use denoiser to get rid off jaggy edges.

I would agree, but it now seems the phong angle issues is fixed.  The above view resolved within a little over an hour (with very little denoising).

Looks like you guys fixed the phong tag problem.  I was able to uncheck angle limit in the Halloween build and the noise is gone...

A clean install makes no difference, but it will straighten itself out after restarting C4D.  CBAS Visuals suggestion works, but that's cumbersome with so many materials in my scene.

Should have said I am using R18.
