Corona proxies DO NOT save RAM! Their only purpose is speeding up viewport performance, not RAM usage reduction. Therefore lots of proxies are, at best, the same as no proxies at all and at worst detrimental in very large scenes (since they all need to be loaded into RAM before rendering starts). If they are stored on a slow drive or on a network path, loading them will take time. Can you try removing temporarily at least the largest proxies or half the proxies to see whether that speeds up the pre-render preparation? Thanks!

Latest info on FumeFX compatibility:

Unfortunately, FumeFX 5.0 and above are still not 100% compatible with Corona and we are working on it. In the meantime, consult this helpdesk article for step-by-step instructions on how to export VDB files from FumeFX and use them with Corona Volume Grid: https://coronarenderer.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/12000042125

Let's try a different approach: try renaming the C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\[Max version]\ENU folder and starting Max again.

It is not enough to change the region. You need to change the locale to United States.

Bug Reporting / Re: Corona Scatter V3(Hotfix2) 3dsmax 2017
« on: 2019-04-18, 13:08:41 »
Can you please submit a ticket to support and upload a scene that's behaving differently in V2 and V3 to our uploader?

To submit a ticket: https://coronarenderer.freshdesk.com/support/tickets/new

Our uploader is here: https://corona-renderer.com/upload

Note that there is a separate Dropbox-based uploader that can accept files up to 10GB in size, available here: https://www.dropbox.com/request/TxIykqXBaJnRvWIwOypP (it's also linked in the general uploader at the bottom of the page)

Please make sure you also mention the name of the uploaded file in the ticket.

Thanks!

Bug Reporting / Re: corona 3 hot fix 2 install problem

Make sure you have all the latest Windows updates on all the machines you are installing Corona to.

This is a very rare error that is caused (and is with) the libraries that are used for Corona's UI drawing. These libraries are set to be replaced in a future version of Corona. For now, to get rid of the error, switch out of 3ds Max (either by clicking a different window or alt-tabbing then back. You may need to switch to more than one window and click more than a few times to get it to go away in even rarer cases.
Alternative is restarting Max but it shouldn't be necessary.

Resolved bugs / Re: CoronaLightMix - Backburner
« on: 2019-04-04, 12:26:05 »
Corona 4 (currently in Daily Builds) includes an option of adding all the unassigned lights to a separate LightSelect element, allowing control over the "rest/unassigned" like with any other type of light. It even allows denoising those lights in this way.

Can you please try the latest daily build and see if the issue is still present or if it can be successfully worked around with the new functionality?

The latest daily build, as of this writing, is the 02/04 Daily and can be found here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/mswauuv1afec8am/AAA5OKrd_QujokDM3mxQ7S40a

I got in touch with Rebus and they claim .3dl files are supported but in this particular case the respective .3dl file was not uploaded with the scene. They recommend "testing the render before submitting for final". Since I'm not too familiar with their submission procedures, I assume this means you can upload the scene and do a test render to see if it's ok before committing to the full render.

This has been fixed in V3. Definitely not an issue in the latest Dailies.

This has been reported to the devs and is being looked into.

I need help / Re: CoronaPortal issue
« on: 2019-02-05, 15:29:57 »
Thanks to spviz for reporting this to us in a ticket yesterday, this has now been brought to the attention of the developers and it's being investigated. Its is a reproducible bug.

For now the only thing that can be done is not put a portal there. A bit longer to render but should be fine.

Does autosave always interrupt IR for you or does it happen only in heavier scenes?

We've managed to reproduce this and the developers have been notified.
