The bitmap must be created in 16 bits. Converting from 8 to 16 won't solve the problem.
The bitmap must be created at 16 bit initially.

SAT format is good for solid models.
SAT imported as "body object", is true solid model.
Apply edit mesh modifer, not edit poly. And do not convert to edit poly, it is kill all normals.

To get non-triangulated faces, you can use "Moi3d" for reexport.

Assets do not need paths, if they are inside the root folder!
The program does not see Asset (without paths), if they are outside the folder from which the Max file is open.

Should be enough main values of rotation X, Y, Z.
"Angle Step" checkbox ON = discrete ON.


Even easier, without spinner.

Step rotation. Rotation angle limit, for example - only 45 degrees or 90 degrees, etc.
Suitable for buildings, urban elements, details on roofs, etc.

In the newest daily builds anisotropy is handled a bit different and it has two modes - local and uvw. You can check it out. Here is a comparison:
Good news, it is very necessary. –źnisotropy can not be used properly without local space mode. This is especially important for the animation.
