i had the same problem. after hours of tinkering with the scene it appears the culprit in my case was the interactive lightmix. after removing all light select elements ram use returned to normal.

you need to play with few things... use corona sun, add corona environment, adjust exposure, suppress highlights, reduce contrast. now you can lower sun intensity and brighten environment until image is balanced

hi guys
i am rendering a series of showers HDRI in background few lights from above and a side rectang light. chrome Fresnel is 3 , the rest quite regular. i cannot get rid of graininess no matter what i do
what can i do ? attached image after 4 hours render (29 passes)

cannot locate viewport dropdown menu under the main setting dialog... can you point me to it please ? (i am refering to vie port RT )

hi all, first real render - no displacement - just bump - stopped at 33 passes about 1 hour render, love the exterior lighting control.

its in there. if you need to jack-up the price in order to make it right, do so. i personalty feel it will be wrong to make the box +1 year guaranteed support and updates - more then now, i would even price version 1 at an entry price.
