Eddoron - thanks for the reply.  Yes, would like to use AO as mask and read somewhere on here that it would not work with layer shader.  What would AO in a layer or fusion shader look like?

It's probably a very simple solution, but it's not coming to mind.  How is it possible to break up AO in the diffuse channel?  In other words, I like to add a texture map, to create breaks in what is normally a very linear effect.  Thanks in advance.

I realized this post is almost four years old, but I recently came across it while searching for a way to use Corona for C4D w/ Gamma 1.0.  I am taking a video course by CG Bandit where he explains the advantages in 3DS Max.  I have tried unticking LWF and played around with the input color profile to no avail.  Any advice?

I have noticed same kind of issues when having a geometry without phong tag. There is no use to run render with corona for 4 hours. Totally unproductive. Just use denoiser to get rid off jaggy edges.

I would agree, but it now seems the phong angle issues is fixed.  The above view resolved within a little over an hour (with very little denoising).

Looks like you guys fixed the phong tag problem.  I was able to uncheck angle limit in the Halloween build and the noise is gone...

A clean install makes no difference, but it will straighten itself out after restarting C4D.  CBAS Visuals suggestion works, but that's cumbersome with so many materials in my scene.

Should have said I am using R18.

With the latest build (10-25-17), all of my materials are showing as black in the editor window.  They render fine, but this is making it impossible to work with IR as I can't see where I'm going.  The materials are nothing special (diffuse + reflection) - no metals.  Image maps show up fine.  Any suggestions?

Thanks houska.  Randomizing the boxes in on the list.  I have 6 styles of belt buckles to model today...

Lowering the phong angle did the trick.  Thanks for the help!
