Dear Forum,

for my current project I need to render some semitransparent cubes. So far this works quite well with a material I created based on this one: https://www.corona-materials.de/en/material-library/fabric/tulle-white/40, except for the issue that the IES-Lights behind the textile cubes totally burn through the material.

I attached an image to show you the effect.

Does anybody have a hint on how to solve this?

Best regards,

Michael

Just spitballing here, but I assume it is a combination of lowering the Fraction slider in TRANSLUCENCY and maybe upping the level on OPACITY until it dials in correctly.  I've also cheated these things in post a lot, either by rendering the cubes seperate and comping them into the scene in post where I can control layer opacity, or by doing a separate render with and without lights visible and then adjusting to taste.

Don't know if that helps any....

Super. Upping the opacity slider at least helped a bit. And I guess for the final renders your idea to compose two different images will be useful.
Thanks a lot!
