Changed some parameters in a node mat, got a crash. In the bug report it starts in C4D and quickly escalates with Corona IR. Reported to MAXON as well and curious who gets the blame.

Thanks for the upload, it will be added to our internals. Do you recall what exactly you had changed in the node editor? I'm trying to put together some repro steps. Thx

I changed the global scale of one of the Voronoi 3 noises (probably the top one in thenode setup, just got a crash again).

Even worse.
Without having started the IR, I changed the global scale from 300% to 200% and got a crash.
Before that, while working on the setup in IR, I got a yellow colored result suddenly (no color changed) and later, the distorter was ignored and I could not convince the setup to use it again (restarted C45D, reloaded an older version).

The scene is cursed!

Thanks for the additional info. I have tried my best to break the scene but without any luck. We have the minidump so we should (hopefully) will be able to find the trigger. I'll keep you posted.

S22 (the latest, really), Corona daily from May 6, Win 10

After an afternoon of sweating and swearing here is something that (for me) crashes reliably.
As soon as I drag a connection to the Bump port (as shown in the image), thus creating a Shared Shader, C4D crashes - and I don't even have to have the IR active.

So IR might not even be to blame all the time (or at all, no idea).

Muchas gracias! Sadly, I still can't get it to crash here. Hmmm

It's an unusual situation for me, too, because I really didn't have many crashes related to Corona in the past months, but recently they appear far too often.

I sometimes encounter crashes and was suspecting that Corona Shared Shader was the culprit. Maybe you could check that in your scene. From your material setup it doesn't look like it, but still could be worth to check out all channels and maps?

Cheers,

Corona Shared seems to be a pretty mysterious beast indeed.

This is what I suddenly got in my scene (Material 1), which does not make any sense: a shared shader coming from a simple noise?
Copying the material over to a new scene and opening it there shows it in its full glory (again: it is the same material!)

You can also get some nice color variation without using any colors from this scene, probably because the shader is not what it appears to be.

Still no crash here but I can confirm the yellow colour shift with the viewport IR. So thanks also for finding that one ;) It will be added to your original bug report.
