Installer contains two Corona versions: standard and legacy.
It will automatically choose the correct version during installation.
The standard version uses the SSE4.1 instruction set to achieve maximum speed
on modern CPUs (SSE4.1 has been available since Intel i3/i5/i7 and AMD Bulldozer architectures).
The legacy version should run on all CPUs of the last decade, but it is about 20% slower.
NOTE: From Corona Renderer 2 onward, the legacy version will no longer be offered,
and you will need a CPU that supports the SSE4.1 instruction set (that is, any processor from
within the last 10 years).
Here is a list of compatible CPUs.
We will continue to support running the Licensing Server on legacy CPUs, but this will be only the
Licensing Server (the computer won’t be able to be used for rendering).
There are no further specific hardware requirements.
